Club & Boat Share Program
“all the fun without the hassle”
Other programs pack three time-slots into each day of the weekend making your time on the boat quite rushed. Not so with Sail Buffalo! Our weekend time-slots are the same duration as our weekday time-slots, running from 8:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m., and from 3:00 p.m. to Dusk (all certified ASA sailors), and overnight through 8:00 a.m. the following morning (ASA 104 and up certified sailors only). Simply relax and enjoy!
All-Inclusive Pricing for Boat Use
Sail Buffalo pricing is all-inclusive, covering the dock fee, insurance, maintenance, and fuel for local use of sailboats. Fuel consumed by sailboats during extended trips at any time is paid for by the Member.
Yearly $462 gives members access to the basic fleet of sailboats, discounts on education, access to higher end boat rental when available, and invitation to club social events. A one-time initiation fee of $500 is charged for orientation and setup in the program. Tax will be collected at current rate. We offer quarterly or Monthly payments, cash, check or credit-cards.
Sailing Instruction & Certifications
Sailing offers a lifetime of excitement, relaxation, camaraderie and fun.
If you are new to the sport or would just like to “test the waters” we suggest taking advantage of our weekly “Try Sailing” a two hour cruise on Lake Erie allowing people to see if sailing suits them. You will be able to steer, trim sails, or just sit back and enjoy the breeze. The cost is $89 per couple, with one (1) voucher of $50 which will be credited toward your first full course should you decide that sailing is for you. Send us an email requesting your 2 hour “Try Sailing” or call us at 716-432-6589
Most people will start their sailing education with ASA 101 Basic Keel Boat. The certification granted after passing a practical and written exam shows that you have proven yourself to be a confident sailor able to manage 20 – 25 ft boats. The Basic Keel Boat certification allows Sail Buffalo club members to access the basic fleet of sailboats for their own use.
If you are an experienced sailor you may be able to skip the basics and start with a higher level class. We can help determine the best course to match your experience and ability level. Our goal is to help you to become a comfortable, confident sailor; the right course will get you there.
