Pierre Wallinder Is a lifelong sailor who grew up on the windy shores at the West Coast of Sweden. After coming to Buffalo he has taken his Captains License and his ASA Instructor credentials. “Sailing on Hudson River for three days, watching the statue of Liberty overseeing our tacks and jibes was really something else, something I never forget ” Now in his 6th year as an Instructor in Buffalo, he hopes to see more and more sailors on the water, Buffalo needs a Nautical Day Camp by the water! He is very excited about launching the floating classroom 2011 |

Allie Wallinder Allie has competed in many races, both in Opti and 420 class. Together with Alex at the helm they came 1st at RYC Junior Olympics 2008. She enjoys her studies in High School and starts thinking of becoming a certified teacher as soon as possible. Allie is really great with kids, she loves them and they follow her lead. She has attended summer courses at YYC for 6 summers. Sailing Instructor at YYC 2010-11, Senior at GIHS, Allie loves being in the outdoors, spending time with friends, teaching sailing and boating as a life-style. With our planned expansion of a dinghy-fleet and more classroom-space, we hope she will join us 2012 season |

Nick Wallinder ASA BKB 101 certified at the age of 16, Nick loves sailing in strong winds, when he is not busy planning the next sail with his friends. He is an active participant in school track meets, but this may be the summer he also takes up windsurfing. He has attended summer courses at YYC for 6 summers, and raced in Opti and 420 ever since he started. After a busy summer where he has assisted with many sailing instructions, he is now off to SUNY Maritime College |

Merritt Hanson Merritt is a lifelong resident of Buffalo. Teaching Sailing is a true passion for him, and as many students can ascertain, Merritt loves sharing his passion! An ASA BKB 101 Graduate since 2009, he is already planning for his next certification. When not teaching or spending time with his family, he travels the country making roads and bridges safer to drive on. |

Gustav “Gus” Goldberg When something needs to be fixed, Gus is the man. He enjoys working with wood and fiberglass, and we are so lucky to have him with us. He is planning a longer sail-journey this summer, we told him he must come back! Gus was born in Sweden, so he loves living by the Great Lakes. “Almost as home!” |

Gib Bradbury Our “Sailing Professor”, what Gib doesn’t know, is probably not worth spending much time on anyway. With both ASA and US Sailing credentials, plus his 200 Ton Masters, Gib commutes between Florida and Buffalo. Make sure you ask him for advice before your next trip to the BVI! |

Chris Wallinder Fleet Champion Opti Class, 6 years of practice in YYC, he is considering 420 for 2010, but we hope he will stay with us on our Free Sailing for Kids program. Chris is busy with his basketball, but nothing keeps him away from the water when summer is here! |
